Information For Parents

Welcome to Dairy Meadow Primary & Nursery School where we Enjoy, Educate, Embrace and Empower.

 The School Day

8.40am School gates open. Parents must wait with their child in the playground until the class doors are opened.

8.45am Class doors are opened for soft starts.

8.55am Morning sessions start.

11.55-12.55am Lunchtime for reception & year 1 pupils.

12.05-1.05pm Lunchtime for year 2 & 3pupils.

12.15-1.15pm Lunchtime for year 4 & 5 & 6 pupils.

3.15pm Home time. Reception to year 4 pupils must be collected from their classroom by an adult.

Year 5 & 6 pupils can go home by themselves with permission.

Punctuality

It is very important that your child arrives at school on time every day (8.55am). Lessons start promptly after morning registration and the start of the lesson is when teachers explain the new learning. Class doors close at 9am and anyone arriving after that time must report to the school office to sign in late. If your child is late, they will miss this valuable input and may struggle during the lesson.

Attendance

We expect children to be in school every day, unless they are too ill to attend. If your child is ill, you must report it by 8am by phoning the school office. Holidays during term time will not be authorised under any circumstance, you may receive a fine and your child may lose their place at our school. If there are exceptional circumstances in which your child must take leave from school, please complete a form (available from the school office).
