Year 5 visit the National Gallery

A very wet and windy Tuesday 14th November 2023 saw our young artists and sculptors visit the National Gallery for a unique chance of getting up close and personal with some incredibly famous pieces of art.

To supplement their Art project of 'Tints, Tones and Shades', our children explore the works of Turner and Van Gogh to see how true masters effectively use the colour palette. By investigating 'The Fighting Temeraire' and 'Sunflowers', our young artists will hopefully be able to see how subtle variances in colour mixing can produce fairly dramatic results.
