World Book Day 2026 - Year 6 and Year 1 Readers.

At Dairy Meadow we are big on collaboration - we love to use our pupil leadership to give children across the school a unique opportunity.

Our school celebrated World Book Day with a wonderful cross-year reading event. The children in Year 6 visited our Year 1 classrooms to share their love of reading by reading stories together.

The younger pupils thoroughly enjoyed listening to the stories and spending time with their older reading partners. Meanwhile, the Year 6 children showed fantastic maturity and kindness as they helped bring the books to life with expression and enthusiasm.

It was a lovely opportunity for the children to build friendships across year groups and celebrate the joy of reading together. A huge well done to all of the pupils involved for making the event such a success!
