Team Rubicon - Scootfit Workshops

It was a magical day for the Dairy Meadow family on Tuesday 28th April. Children from Years 1, 2 and 3 took part in a scooter and skateboarding workshop. This was a fabulous opportunity for the children to try something new, build their confidence, and learn the importance of balance in more ways than one.
Led by Alex from Team Rubicon, the session began with how to stand, how to push, and how to steady yourself before moving forward. For many of our children, it was their first time stepping onto a scooter or skateboard. There were many wobbles at first, hesitation, careful starts, a few pauses, but our children's resilience and determination shone through.
Alex guided the children with patience and clarity, breaking each movement down into small, manageable steps. As the children’s confidence grew, so did their confidence to try again. Gradually, they began to move more freely, finding their rhythm, adjusting their footing, and learning when to push and when to pause.
Importantly, Alex also made time to work with our children in the Learning Hub, providing a smaller, supportive session tailored to their needs. These sessions created a calm and encouraging space, allowing every child to take part, build confidence, and experience success at their own pace.
A big THANK YOU to Team Rubicon and Alex the skater boy, for leading the workshop and sharing his skills so brilliantly, and to the staff who supported the children throughout the day. Days like this remind us that learning often begins with a small step forward and the willingness to keep going!
