Shade and Shelter with Year 1

Our Year 1 pupils had a brilliant time exploring their DT topic Shade and Shelters, bringing learning to life in the most hands-on way! 🌤️⛺

 The children investigated different types of shelters, thought carefully about purpose and design, and enjoyed seeing how structures can provide shade and protection. A real highlight of the topic was when our caretaker, Mark, expertly showed the children how to put up a tent. They watched closely, asked thoughtful questions and were fascinated to see how all the parts fitted together.

 A huge thank you to Mark for sharing his skills and helping make this learning experience so practical and memorable – a fantastic example of learning beyond the classroom!
